Report Exposures was first conceived in 1999 by a group of California Firefighters. They recognized the need for a non-exclusive database and system to archive exposures for Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, and EMS personnel nationwide.

After two years of research and development the site launched and the first exposure was reported in January of 2001. Since then, the system has expanded and several thousand exposures have been recorded from Public Safety Officers across the United States.

In 2005 the system was upgraded to include Law Enforcement reporting and expanded to support State, Provincial and Local Associations providing exposure reporting to their members.

Report Exposures was founded and today remains guided by active Firefighters, EMS personnel, and Law Enforcement Officers.
